Georgia Carpani

Born in Sydney, Carpani is a composer, classically trained pianist, and piano and composition teacher.

In 2009 she completed her Master of Music with a major in Composition. Her thesis explored the composer/director relationship in documentary film. In 2004 she completed her Bachelor of Arts in English and Music from Chatham University in Pittsburgh PA, USA. During her time in Pittsburgh she composed several instrumental ensembles which were performed by members of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.

She has written music for community service announcements as well as several film projects for the Sydney Film School. One of these, "White Sound", has screened at a number of film festivals around the world, winning several awards. The piece "I" from her original solo piano work "5 Pieces" has played on ABC Classic FM and numerous community radio stations around the country.

She is currently a piano teacher and a Year 11 and 12 HSC music composition tutor at The Hills Grammar School, Kenthurst.
