James is an accomplished composer for film, documentary, and television.

James started in the theatre, and as such developed a refined understanding of story telling, drama and comedy that has helped define his musical voice.

TV composing credits include documentary series Beyond Siberia and Beyond Sahara, narrated by Charlie Boorman and based on the adventure motorbike series Long Way Round.

An AFTRS graduate, James scored AFTRS short A Boy Called Su, that won awards at the HollyShorts Film Festival in Los Angeles 2017, and the Sichuan TV Festival in China 2015.

Other projects include scoring SBS / NITV interactive documentary K’Gari, which was nominated as a finalist in the UNAA Media awards 2017, and was also showcased at the International Documentary Film Festival in Amsterdam (IDFA) 2017.
