Marcos Gil

Marcos Gil is a composer, producer and bassist with over 20 years experience in the music industry.

After graduating from music school at the Argentinean Musicians Society (SAdeM, Buenos Aires, Argentina), Marcos began working as a session bassist in his hometown of Buenos Aires, recording and touring with a wide range of local artists. Parallel to his session work, Marcos started to make a name of himself as Producer and Recording Engineer which encouraged him to found Manitu recording studios in 2004.

During his years as head producer and manager at Manitu studios, he recorded and produced many records, worked with local independent labels and started his career as a composer by writing music for advertising campaigns.

In 2010, Marcos relocated to Sydney, Australia where he continued his work as touring musician and bass tutor. He co-wrote and recorded two albums with the Jazz Fusion outfit Danny John Trio which led to a tour to Los Angeles, Chicago and San Antonio, USA, in 2014.

Since completing a Master’s certificate in Composition for Film and TV at the renowned Berklee College of Music, Marcos continues to compose music of all genres for film and television.
